Life has been life-ing lately. My boss passed away in December last year. I never really thought we could also experience grief at work. I miss her, a lot, and still think of her almost every day. She was not only my manager, she was my mentor and friend. This loss has really made me reflect on legacy and appreciation of the little moments in life right now.
So here’s how it’s going: I’m currently still adjusting to marriage and homeownership life. I’ve been reading a lot more in 2026 and trying my best to stay away from social media. I’ve set up some Shortcut apps on my iPhone to help me jot ideas and preserve memories without needing to share it with the world. I’ve also been mentoring both formally and informally.
On the work front, work has been really busy—good busy. I was recently selected for the Emerging Leader program at work which is an 8-week cohort curriculum to help prepare us for a people manager role. I’ve also been supporting AI enablement efforts, helping plan for employee appreciation day, and participating in the diversity & inclusion volunteer group.
For fun, I’m watching High Potential and Grey’s Anatomy. I recently finished watching All Her Fault. 100% recommend. I’ve been breaking in some awesome office tech gear that I got for Christmas and I’m really looking forward to our trip to El Salvador this quarter.
Here’s my to-do list:
Build my Now page- Complete the EL Program at work
- Finish Digital Body Language book
- Write 3-4 posts this quarter (2 of 4 complete)
- DIY Business cards for myself
- Transfer at least 50% of my iPhone photos to my hard drive
